RAW USA Inspection Checklist

This checklist is not intended to replace a local or state agency inspection or certification process. It is intended to build trust in raw milk products, to permit public access for review of a RAW USA producer's facilities and conditions, and to assure product safety and integrity.

To be completed by RAW USA inspector or raw milk consumer.

  • Copies of current Grade A creamery operating permits and recent local dairy inspectors scored checklists indicating compliance with local and state standards
  • Copies of preceding three months raw milk lab tests including: 3 pathogen test results and 3 SPC test results. These may be the same test results as taken by the state or local dairy inspectors
  • Copies of Organic Certifications for farm if certified or partially certified
  • Inspection of dairy pastures, feed areas, cow watering areas, water lagoons, milking facilities, calf raising areas, milk tanks, creamery facilities, bottling areas, cold storage areas, dry product storage areas, all finished products, store or retail areas with pictures of each of these areas
  • Pictures showing milk cows being permitted routine access to green pastures
  • Copies of consumer complaints on file with the dairy for last year
  • Copies of all labels being used by dairy for sale of products
